Days 11, and 12 Sea Days
Day 13 Alter Do Chao, Brazil
March 4, 5 and 6th. Weather is the same, sunny, warm, humid.
Days 11 and 12. The seas days were rough until we got to Day 12 when we were going out of the ocean to the mouth of the Amazon River. The seas were rolling which I do not do well with. Confined to our room most of the time, ordered in our dinners. Not a fun time! Rich does well with any kind of seas, but even with seabands, bonine, eating ginger, nothing seemed to help. This is so unusual for me. Must be getting old.
Our dinner on day 11
Day 13 Alter Do Chao This is an independent stop meaning there were no excursions. We were very late in getting there due to the fueling we had to do in Trinidad which took so long, and the currents in the Amazon were very strong going against us causing us to be really late. We were only at this stop a few hours, but we had been there before and there was not much to see so we stayed onboard. Glad that the Amazon is a very smooth sail.
Ship life is basically the same for us every sea day or day that we do not do any excursions. The Amazon is very coffee colored water, lots of debris floating around. We are in the rainy season in this area so an occasional shower will pop up.
Food has been good as our waistlines say it is. The wines at dinner are below what we have experienced in previous Regent cruises. The service is excellent as the waistaff are very friendly and are willing to help with any request.
Until next time...
